Who Drinks Harmon's Q&A: Chris Tait - Musician & Composer
You might know Chris as the Lead Singer / Guitarist of Canadian recording artists Chalk Circle (with hit songs like April Fool, Me Myself and I, This
Mourning, and many others).
He's also a member of ACTRA as a voice artist, writes music for advertising and animated television and most recently, has been collaborating with artists through his label Park Music. These days, he spends most of his time writing, performing, producing, plotting and parenting. Once the weather warms up, Chris hope to throw golfing back into the mix.
How long have you been sober?
I have been sober, except for the very occasional glass of wine, for about 18 months now…nothing dramatic about my decision. Just wanted to try it.
What’s your favourite thing about being sober? Tell us what interested you in the sober curious movement.
Right away I noticed my physical energy level and stamina increase. I lost about 10 pounds in 3 months without doing anything different. I also felt noticeably clearer.
I didn’t realize there was a ‘sober curious’ movement. My decision was more of an existential one. I started thinking about my relationship with alcohol and how, in almost every social interaction alcohol is expected; almost a requirement. I came to resent that. I am quite often asked why I do not drink alcohol especially, in social situations. This reaffirms my decision.
Somewhere between blue and green.
Too many favourites to list. Fresh ingredients well prepared. Can’t go wrong.
Favourite way to unwind?
Reading, Photography, Cycling, Acoustic Guitar noodling.
Favourite Harmon’s Product?
Jack Pine Pale Ale although, Half-Day IPA may overtake once summer arrives.
