Fun & Tasty Ways to Keep Your New Year's Resolutions

You probably knew that the most common New Year's resolutions include:

1) losing weight,

2) exercising more,

3) spending more time with friends/family,

4) stopping drinking/smoking.

But did you also know that a mere 9–12% of people stick to their resolutions, while the other 80% lose all motivation by mid-February?  Despite those sobering statistics (pun intended!), the Harmon’s team is here to help you to stick to your resolutions with some fun and tasty suggestions!

First, the fun stuff! We're big fans of tobogganing, ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with friends and family. Bonus, these group activities double as exercise! The GTA has loads of great tobogganing hills, skating rinks and skate trails. You can also cross-country ski and snowshoe on some fantastic courses in the area.

Here are a few places we love in Toronto:

Tobogganing

Riverdale Park East: 550 Broadview Avenue

Christie Pits Park: 750 Bloor Street West

Skating

The Bentway: 250 Fort York Boulevard

Greenwood Park: 150 Greenwood Avenue

Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

High Park: 1873 Bloor Street West

Sunnybrook Park: 1132 Leslie Street

Now for the tasty bit! Unwind with a Harmon’s in hand while you reminisce about all the fun you've just had. If watching your calorie intake is on your resolution list, rest assured our beer counts as a low-calorie option. While our flavours range from 40–60 calories per 12oz. can, a typical serving of ale or lager comes in at approximately 124 calories; an average light beer contains 103 calories; and an IPA can range between 180 – 200 calories.  Tasty & low calorie for the win!

Now go have fun & make this the year you keep your resolutions!
